Recoverall

Here is Cindy's tip of the week.

If you are working on a project and the drawings are slow to load a great tool to help is called RECOVERALL. What does it do?

Recoverall opens and recovers the selected file and all associated Xrefs and cleans up the integrity of the drawing . A great time to use this tool is when you start working on a pre-AutoCAD 2009 project.

Here is how it works:
  1. Make sure that you are not in any of the files that you want to Recover.
  2. Type RECOVERALL at the command line (or from the File pulldown -> Drawing Utilities > Recover drawings and xrefs).
  3. Select the Wolski (non-xref) drawing that you want to Recover.
  4. Repeat on other Wolski drawings.
Give it a try!

Fixing Drawing Errors

This is a quick and easy way to fix any errors in your drawing.
I generally do this process when I'm purging my drawing.
After you purge, type in "audit" (enter) and then "y" (enter) to allow autocad to fix any errors. Once its done fixing, it will show you how many errors were in your drawing.
That's all. Nice and easy!
